Lughnasadh Links and A Brief Introduction
In which I race to keep up with the Wheel of the Year
So, it’s August 1, I guess?
I just started a job as a political organizer and the last couple of weeks have been a bit disorienting—lots of “historical” events piling up on top of each other. I’ve barely slept and the extent to which I have been living the Wheel of the Year is occasionally remembering to water my garden at night.
I did find some time today to polish up a guide to Lughnasadh I wrote for local friends a couple of years ago, and you can download it here.
If you want more, I got you. Here’s what I’m finding inspiring today:
How to celebrate Lúnasa like a god who knows how to do everything 🌞🌞🌞 by Amanda Yates Garcia: A deep dive into the history, mythology, and practice of the pagan holiday of Lúnasa, plus music recommendations and celebration ideas.
A Lammas Ladymass by Anonymous 4: If you’re familiar with my work, you know that I have all kinds of fussy things to say about the relationship between pagan religions and Christianity. These voices transcend my pedantry.
I’m trying to find time to think about the autumn equinox as we rush into election season. Who knows how that will work out?
